We moved on to our last beer in this series: Wynwood’s Pop’s Porter. For the burned grain lovers out there, this refreshing dark heavy beer is just right. How did the Beer Vibe crew enjoy it?

Wynwood Brewing Company – Pop’s, Robust, Porter

6.2% ABV, 41 IBU’s

These are our thoughts.

The Pour: Fuzzy small head.

Ms. Hopologist: “Medium lace.”

Once Upon a German: “Semi-fuzzy.”

Mr. De La Beer: “Small head.”

Score: 4/5


The Smell: Smokey.

Ms. Hopologist: “Malty, liquid smokes.”

Once Upon a German: “Smokey add-ins, burned oatmeal.”

Mr. De La Beer: “Smokey like a camp fire.”

Score: 4.5/5


The Color: Dark meets expectations.

Ms. Hopologist: “Dark brown.”

Once Upon a German: “Lovely dark beer.”

Mr. De La Beer: “Like cola.”

Score: 4.5/5


The Flavor: Something close to burned oatmeal.

Ms. Hopologist: “Liquid smokes, burnt coffee, roasted oats.”

Once Upon a German: “Burned oatmeal moonshine.”

Mr. De La Beer: “Rich malty roasted oats.”

Score: 4.6/5


The Mouthfeel: Rich robust.

Ms. Hopologist: “Rich, full bodied.”

Once Upon a German: “Medium to full bodied beer, sweet caramel ending. Ends bitter. Pair with Cobb salad.”

Mr. De La Beer: “Nice ending, rich full feel.”
